School and College Rock Climbing Sessions @ The Edge   

  • School and college courses can be tailored to fit GCSE and A level requirements.  

  • Bookable as one-off taster sessions or groups of lessons.  

  • Available as part of the NICAS scheme.  

As part of the national curriculum - physical education in schools should provide an opportunity in KS2, KS3 and KS4 to partake in outdoor adventurous activities, so why not bring them climbing. This often allows pupils to try something completely new and offers great levels of personal challenge  

During these sessions the group has sole occupancy of the wall.

Pricing information is below: 

  • 1 hr sessions - £7.50pp - There is minimum of 6 and a maximum 12 (if more than 16 in your section we often run two 1hr sessions back-to-back)  

  • 1.5hr sessions – £10pp - There is minimum of 6 and a maximum 16

Course Description

GCSE and A Level

-       AQAEdexcel and OCR all offer climbing as an individual sport for GCSE PE that can be accessed at an indoor wall (roped and/or bouldering, check individual exam bored)

o   These sessions provide an opportunity for students to work towards their GCSE PE, providing a unique and often new sport.

o   The climbing session can be run through a block of weeks or over several weekly sessions.

o   There is also an option to include achieving the NICAS awards

BETC/Diploma

-       Much like GCSE, climbing can be used for Diplomas in Public service, Sport and Outdoor activities.

o   These sessions provide an opportunity for students to work towards their Diploma, providing a unique and often new sport.

o   The climbing session can be run through a block of weeks or over several weekly sessions.
