NICAS Beginner- Level 1 These sessions are for those who have not already completed a term with us and are new to roped climbing. Level 1- New Climber An entry-level aimed at novices that recognises their ability to climb safely under supervision. NICAS Development- Level 2/3 These sessions are for those who have already completed at least one term with us. Level 2- Foundation Climber Aimed at promoting good practice in climbing and belaying unsupervised on an artificial wall. Level 3 - Technical Climber A more advanced top-roping and bouldering award that focuses on developing technique and movement skills. This is aimed at ensuring a candidate possesses the knowledge and skill to climb and belay safely at any climbing facility (whether under supervision or with back-up) and operate in a responsible manner. Achievement at this level is broadly equivalent to a pass at GCSE. Please book the appropriate class. If the incorrect class is booked, you will be refunded. NICAS Wild Climbers- 4 to 7yrsDescriptionNICAS WILD CLIMBERS NICAS Wild Climbers is a fun, game-filled scheme available from age 4 at The Edge. It aims to introduce early years climbers safely into the indoor climbing environment.
NICAS Wild Climbers offers climbing skills for all, from age 4 to 6. It's a fun, game orientated programme that aims to introduce climbers safely into the indoor climbing environment, developing their awareness of climbing movements, improving confidence and creating a grassroots pathway into additional climbing activities. NICAS Wild Climbers meets the 3 key learning areas of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) which is the precursor to Key Stage 1, and includes Communication, Physical Development, and Social & Emotional Development. Your first term is £70 which includes the cost of the Wild Climbers Logbook (RRP £15) all following terms are £65.
Birthday Party'sClimbing Birthday PartiesDescriptionBirthday Parties Are you looking for something a little different for your child's party? Then why not book a climbing party at The Edge. We can offer young people a fun, exciting time climbing with games and activities under the supervision of our centre instructors. The climbing session can be either 1 or 1.5 hours long, Suitable for age 7 years and over with a maximum group size of 12 people. We would recommend children wear clothing that they can move around in and preferably not jeans. We currently do not have an area which can be used for refreshments after (This is something we are looking into in the near future)

As part of the national curriculum - physical education in schools should provide an opportunity in KS2, KS3 and KS4 to partake in outdoor adventurous activities, so why not bring them climbing. This often allows pupils to try something completely new and offers great levels of personal challenge. During these sessions the group has sole occupancy of the wall.
