Image of Exploring Conflict and Paradox

£80.00

Description

This event is with Dr Christine Oliver,
Thursday 21st May 2026 10am-4.30pm,
University of Leeds
LGI Worsley Building 8.49n (£80)

Detailed Description

Conflict can invite generative but also impairing dynamics. Even the possibility of conflict can limit team functioning and leadership effectiveness. Conflict can also develop into paradoxical patterns that paralyse team functioning but how might paradox be embraced and become a generative opportunity? This workshop will explore how we might facilitate meaning making of conflict and paradox so that participants can move from entrenched and naïve positions to systemic awareness and agency.

We will make use of various frameworks, linked to case illustration, including –

       The world of difference model

       Conflict transformation

       Paradox as a reflexive tool

We will link to your team contexts throughout the workshop and engage in a Kaleidoscope Consultation using the whole group in relation to one person’s dilemma or challenge in the afternoon.
