Whether starting out or looking to improve specific techniques, these sessions offer support and guidance. It's a great way to meet fellow climbers and be part of the climbing community at The Edge! This session will show you the basics of bouldering, which is climbing a short height with crash mats underneath. You will also learn about climbing movement skills, helping you complete some of our graded climbing routes with style. Climbing is a fantastic full-body workout, so be prepared to challenge yourself physically and mentally! Thursdays 12:15-13:00 pm @ The Edge Climbing Wall You don’t need any special kit – just wear trainers and something you’re comfortable in. Please tie up long hair and remove jewellery for the session. We recommend bringing some water. There are water fountains available at The Edge. Showers and lockers are also available.

The volleyball sessions are inclusive of all abilities whether you have played before or not. All University of Leeds staff and students are welcome to join these sessions. The sessions will be led by one of our activators, and will involve drills and games. Mondays 12-12.45pm @ Gryphon Sports Centre

PickleballActive Campus Staff and Student PickleballDescriptionStaff and Student Pickleball Pickleball is a sport that combines the fun of tennis, badminton and table tenis, making it a unique and engaging game for all experience levels. The sport is played with paddles on a Badminton-sized court but with a low net, and is often played as doubles with two players on each team. Monday 6pm - 7pm @ The Edge (Hall 1A) Please speak to reception on arrival who will direct you if you are unsure where to go. You don’t need any special kit or equipment - this is all provided. Just wear trainers and something you’re comfortable in. We recommend bringing some water. There are water fountains available outside the sports hall. Showers and lockers are available at the site.
ClassesActive Campus Hyrox Training ClassDescriptionLearn how to Hyrox Take your fitness to the next level with our Hyrox training class - a dynamic workout combining functional movements, cardio intervals, and strength training for a full-body fitness experience. Designed for all ability levels, this class focuses on improving strength, stamina, and overall conditioning through a mix of exercises (including ski-erg, row, runs, wall balls, burpees, lunges, farmer's carries and sled pushes). No previous experience is required. Whether you’re training for an official Hyrox event or just want a full-body challenge, our coaches will guide you through a fun, high-energy session that leaves you feeling stronger and fitter. Thursday 5:40-6:20pm in The Edge, Hall 2. Reception staff will direct you upon arrival. You don’t need any special kit – just wear trainers and exercise clothing you are comfortable in.
