Climbing Sessions

Description

Join our coach-led climbing classes designed for all skill levels. Whether starting out or looking to improve specific techniques, these sessions offer support and guidance. It's a great way to meet fellow climbers and be part of the climbing community at The Edge! You can boulder, or if you are a competent rope climber, you can rope climb. 

Please note: If you are looking to rope climb, you must be an experienced rope climber and have passed a roped competency test. If you haven't done one with us yet, these can be done on the day with a one-off £8 sign-off registration. 

Every Thursday, 12:00-12:45 pm

Single session- £3

4 x Single session (Punch Card) - £10

Booking a punch card will give you access to the wall for four staff climbing sessions. It will expire after 8 weeks of purchase. 

You don’t need any special kit; climbing shoes will be provided, and we can also supply harnesses and belay devices to competent rope climbers. Showers and lockers are available at The Edge.

Description

Introduction to Rowing sessions will look at introducing safe and effective technique on the rowing machine and building up fitness mostly on the rowing machine and a little with body weight exercises and stretching off the machines. These sessions are a great way to take an active break on campus and meet new people. All University of Leeds staff and students are welcome to join these sessions. 

Fridays 12:00-12:45pm at The Edge. Please speak to reception on arrival who will direct you.  

You don’t need any special kit, and all equipment will be provided. Please wear trainers and comfortable clothing. We also recommend bringing some water. Showers and lockers are available on site.

Description

Learn how to Hyrox

Take your fitness to the next level with our Hyrox training class - a dynamic workout combining functional movements, cardio intervals, and strength training for a full-body fitness experience.

Designed for all ability levels, this class focuses on improving strength, stamina, and overall conditioning through a mix of exercises (including ski-erg, row, runs, wall balls, burpees, lunges, farmer's carries and sled pushes). No previous experience is required.

Whether you’re training for an official Hyrox event or just want a full-body challenge, our coaches will guide you through a fun, high-energy session that leaves you feeling stronger and fitter.

Thursday 5:40-6:20pm in The Edge, Hall 2.  Reception staff will direct you upon arrival.

You don’t need any special kit – just wear trainers and exercise clothing you are comfortable in. We recommend bringing a bottle of water and you might like to bring a towel. Showers and lockers are available at The Edge.
