ContactJimmy Younis: lawjy@leeds.ac.uk More InformationWhat to wear What to bring We’ll arrive at Hebden Bridge at around 10am and immediately proceed on an optional group walk up to the beautiful village of Heptonstall. Heptonstall is a historic village, famous as the resting place of American poet Sylvia Plath and David Hartley, ‘King of the Craggvale Coiners’. There is a beautiful church, side-by-side with the remaining ruins of the old church. There are some amazing photo opportunities, including views across the area, which certainly make the steep hill we’ll walk up to get there worthwhile. You will then be free to walk back down into Hebden Bridge when you are ready. There are some great independent shops and a market, ideal for Christmas shopping, plus charity shops selling second hand items for those looking for a bargain. There are lots of cafes, pubs and restaurants throughout the town, or you could bring a packed lunch. For those looking to explore more of the countryside, you could take a longer walk along the canal, or visit the Nutclough Valley. | ||||||||||||||||
