Have you got a head for heights? Get an entirely new perspective on campus by abseiling off the Michael Sadler Building! Under the watchful eye of fully qualified and experienced professionals, harness your inner James Bond before getting your feet safely back on the ground ready to enjoy the rest of the amazing Staff Festival attractions. Why not rope in a few friends to join you in this thrilling experience?!
The technical stuff...
Children (under 18s) are welcome but they must be supervised (1-1) by their own parent/guardian. This cannot be another adult e.g. family friend. The supervising adult will also need to purchase a slot on the same session as the child.
There is no upper or lower age / size / weight limit except where the safety equipment no longer fits or the instructor deems the equipment will be unable to provide sufficient protection. We have a range of equipment from small child through to large adult, but unfortunately where this variety is insufficient, we will be unable to accommodate individuals.
There are several medical conditions which may preclude participation on the abseil event.
Abseiling may not be recommended during the latter stages of pregnancy. Medical advice is recommended however.
Participants should wear appropriate Clothing for light activity and non-marking shoes.
Anyone under the influence of drugs/alcohol will not be permitted to abseil
Asthma, diabetes, epilepsy and heart conditions may require medical advice depending on the severity. If in doubt, we recommend participants consult their GP before signing up.
