Detailed Description

The Yorkshire coast is a source of endless fascination, full of beauty and steeped in history, folklore and legend.

The walk will begin in Whitby and will incorporate the small fishing village of Sandsend before returning back to Whitby. We will walk along the beautiful Yorkshire coast and we will pause regularly to appreciate the views along the route.

We will finish the trip off with some time in Whitby where you can purchase traditional British fish and chips so we suggest bringing some spending money for a tasty meal, snack or hot drink before departing back for Leeds. Alternatively you may want to bring a packed lunch and drink of your own.

We will depart by coach from the Parkinson Steps at 08:30 returning to Leeds at approximately 18:30. We would like to emphasise the need for good outdoor walking shoes or strong trainers (you don’t mind getting muddy) plus a layer of waterproof clothing.
