Located in the Washburn valley near Harrogate, Fewston reservoir is a large body of water perfect to walk around.

Detailed Description

Get ready to take some beautiful photos of reflections across the water, as we walk in an area of outstanding beauty. This landscape has been shaped by and for the supply of drinking water to the people of Leeds!

Join Get Out, Get Active for a day out to this beautiful area! There will be a choice of two walks; a shorter option around the Fewston reservoir of 6km and a longer one around the additional Swinsty Reservoir (roughly 12km).  There are good footpaths all around the reservoir and on the way round we will visit a small heritage centre and church with the opportunity to learn some more interesting facts about the history of the reservoir and the valley.

We would like to emphasise the need for suitable walking footwear and a waterproof jacket, as the weather remains cold and wet they may be needed. Please bring a packed lunch and water bottle on the trip as there may not be opportunity to buy any.

When booking a place for this event, the named participant is making a commitment to attend the event. If after payment a participant cannot attend for any reason including illness, injury and emergencies, the participant will not be entitled to a refund. The event organiser will be as accommodating as possible if the participant cannot attend and will deal with cases on an individual basis up to one week before the event. We advise that in the event of the named candidate not being able to attend that they find a replacement to take their position on the course and notify the event organiser at least one week before the date of the event. No changes can be made within one week of the event.
